Shows the point of view of SATimeline and Report on Sri Lanka vs. India
The end of this three-match T20I series. Sri Lanka will be very sad. They were able to keep a strong Indian batting line-up to 137, even though Pathirana didn’t bowl a single ball. And their top three batters did quite well against the Indian spinners, which helped them get to a good spot. It’s easy to get used to losing, and sadly for them, the reason has been the same in all three games. Three big breakdowns ruined excellent starts by their top-order players. Will they be able to get over this? The ODIs are coming up soon. The action moves to Colombo, where the first of three ODIs will start on Friday. The Islanders might have a harder time because the visitors will have players like Rohit and Kohli on their team. We all say goodbye for now…
Suryakumar gets the prize and gives it to Parag and Rinku. The Indian team is pleased as they pose with the CHAMPIONS sign.
Suryakumar Yadav is the Player of the Series. I think the boys showed a lot of character in the middle when we were 30/4 and 48/5, and they took the game away from them. I thought that 140 was a good score on that course. When we were heading in for fielding practice, I informed them, “I’ve seen games like this before.” We can do it if we really want to for an hour and a half. You should also like 30/4 and 70/5 if you like hitting 200-220s and winning games. They will help you find balance in your life and help you go on. Just be humble. The skill level they have and the confidence they bring to the table make my work extremely easy. The way they care about each other and how positive they are on the field and in the locker room is amazing. After the last game, I told the lads that a few of them would rest. They were the first ones to say, “Okay, we’ll rest and you can give others a chance.” That demonstrates what kind of people the team is and how delighted they are for other people who do well. They’ve made my job easier. I don’t feel any pressure when I go into bat; I just like to express myself. I mentioned before the series that I didn’t want to be the captain; I wanted to be a leader.
Charith Asalanka: I’m pretty upset about how our batting order looks, especially the middle and late middle orders. The explanation was very awful shot selection. Hasaranga came up the order because spinners were bowling. We let him strike one or two boundaries, but that didn’t work for us. You chose the wrong shot on this pitch. When the ball grows old, we should be able to pick the right shot. It’s incredibly hard to bat on these tracks. We can’t make excuses; we definitely could have gotten the target. We need to do more than this as professional cricketers. I want to see solid batting in the ODIs, not like in the T20s. The only good thing I can say is that our top three and four have done well. Boys will do things better.
Washington Sundar was the Player of the Match in the Super Over.:A lot of good things that happened to me because of all the work I performed. I wanted to be calm and concentrate on what I had to do. I’m very thankful to Surya for throwing the ball to me in those situation. Thank you very much for giving me a chance in this game. It’s a blessing to play for my nation every time I get to. I just need to do what I’m supposed to do and keep working hard every day. We conducted some work to get ready for their batsmen. I didn’t have to do much because there was a little bit of purchase. I had to hit the right lengths a lot.
Riyan Parag: I felt let down. I should have batted until the end and possibly gotten 160. But we bowled really well and put in a lot of effort to get to 130. Wanted to keep things basic (bowling) because it’s easy to get carried away on a wicket like this. It was all about keeping it stump to stump. I just had to make things easy. I’ve been practicing the leg-break. I tried it in a domestic match and had some net sessions, and it was going great. I did what Surya bhai told me to do, and it worked out beautifully. We had a great time and didn’t feel nervous because we arranged it such that it was extremely spontaneous. Siraj was supposed to bowl the last over, but Surya bhai decided to roll his arm over. We work hard and have fun, and that’s our motto.
23:53 local time, 18:23 GMT, and 23:53 IST: The new era with SKY and Gambhir has begun with a 3-0 series win. India made four changes to their XI for this match because the series was already over. They were put in to bat and lost four wickets in the powerplay, bringing their total to 30/4. Later, they lost five more wickets, bringing their total to 48/5. Gill and Parag put up a fifty-run partnership, and then Washington Sundar made a big contribution to India’s total of 137, which was a good score on a spinning course. Sri Lanka started slowly in response, with the openers only reaching 35 runs in the powerplay. They eventually raised the stakes and made a fifty-run partnership. Bishnoi got rid of Nissanka, but there was another half-century collaboration. Sri Lanka was doing well, with the two Kusals in the middle looking good. Sri Lanka had the contest in their hands, yet they lost it anyhow. In his last over, Bishnoi got rid of Mendis, and in his fourth over, Sundar got rid of two more. But when Khaleel threw a lot of wides in the 18th over, most of us assumed that India had lost the match. The last two overs just needed 9 runs. Sri Lanka messed up against Rinku Singh and SKY! The Super Over was over and done with swiftly. Sundar got rid of Perera and Nissanka for ducks, and then SKY finished it off with one ball. What a crazy game of cricket!

Shows how India feels about those gamesTimeline and Report for Zimbabwe vs. India
Zimbabwe beat India and gave them their first loss in T20 internationals this year. Yes, this isn’t India’s main team, but the players that are here are very experienced and skilled in T20 cricket, so they’ll feel like they let themselves down. In less than 24 hours, they have another game to try to make things right. We’ll be back here to chronicle everything that happens. This is Anurag Hegde saying goodbye for Kumar Abhishek Das and Siva. Goodbye and take care.
Sikandar Raza, the captain of Zimbabwe and Player of the Match: I’m so delighted we won. Take it one game at a time. The task isn’t done, and the series isn’t over. We need to be ready for the next game because world champions play like world champions. You can’t go out for 115 on this wicket. Both teams’ bowlers deserve credit. This is a clear sign that we need to improve our talents. I told them that I didn’t care what happened as long as we were faithful to the crowd and the locker room. We had our plans, we kept to them, and we backed our boys. We performed a great job of catching and fielding on the ground, but we did make some mistakes, which shows that we can become better. We knew the supporters would give us energy and lift us up, and they did.
Shubman Gill is the captain of India. We bowled really well, but we didn’t fare well on the field. We weren’t that good, and everyone seemed a little rusty. We talked about taking our time and enjoying our hitting, but that didn’t happen. We had lost five wickets by the middle of the game. It would have been better for us if I had stuck there till the end. I was quite dissatisfied with how I got out and how the remainder of the match went. We had some hope, but when your number 10 batter is out there and you’re chasing 115, you know something is wrong.
Clive Madande: We just wanted to play the whole game and collect as many runs as we could. I tried to protect my partner, but I ended up getting 115, which was fine on this wicket. I told Chatara simple things and tried to let him play just two balls in an over. We advised the lads to give it their all and do their best no matter what.

England vs. Australia: A Timeline and Report
The 24,227 people who came to the Edgbaston ODI liked every minute of it. As England’s charge picked up speed, Aaron Finch, who was fielding on the Hollies Stand side boundary, suddenly had thousands of fans in the seats behind him. Finch deserves a lot of credit for how well he handled the constant shouting of his name. It showed the humor and respect that make cricket the best sport in the world.
When the rain came, England was 240 for four after 40.2 overs, which was well above D/L par.
England is still a real contender to win the trophy, but Australia’s tournament is gone without a win. They lost after two washouts, which added to their history of losing to England at Edgbaston.
The Australians have been punished in Birmingham several times since they were bowled out for 36 on their first Test tour in 1902. Colin Cowdrey (1968), Ian Botham (1981), David Gower (1985), Andrew Flintoff (2005), and James Anderson (2015) are just a few of the players who have done this. Stokes and Morgan’s names can now be added to that list, along with Adil Rashid and Mark Wood, who each took four wickets to end Australia’s innings when it looked like they would score more than 300.
Steve Smith’s team was doing well at 239 for four in the 43rd over, thanks to Travis Head and Glenn Maxwell. But then Maxwell dragged Wood into the Hollies Stand, and Jason Roy made an amazing grab. He hit the ball right on the boundary, then threw it up before his momentum took him over the rope and back onto the field to finish the play.

The Old Rivalry:The Ashes and More
The Ashes is a cricket series between England and Australia that has been exciting spectators all over the world for more than 100 years. The rivalry, which has famous events and fierce competitiveness, has become a cultural phenomenon.
The word “Ashes” comes from 1882, when England lost its first home game against Australia at The Oval in London. Reginald Shirley Brooks, a journalist for Sporting Times, wrote a fake obituary that said English cricket was dead and urged that its “ashes” be sent to Australia.
A few weeks later, England went on a tour to Australia. On Christmas Eve 1882, English captain Ivo Bligh got a little clay urn as a gift after a friendly game near Melbourne. This was a sign of the “Ashes” he had promised to get back.
There have been a lot of notable moments in the Ashes series. England used a contentious strategy in the “Bodyline” series in 1932–33: they bowled fast balls at the bodies of Australian hitters. The forceful approach, led by Harold Larwood, made people very angry and started a bitter feud.
Ian Botham’s all-around greatness led England to triumph in 1981, giving the series the name “Botham’s Ashes.” Shane Warne’s “ball of the century” in 1993 is still one of the most famous moments in Ashes history.
The 2005 Ashes series was probably the best ever. Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen guided England to victory over a star-studded Australian lineup. Steve Harmison’s bouncer that made Ricky Ponting bleed was the most memorable moment of the series.
The most recent Ashes series, which took place in England in 2023, finished in a tie at 2–2. Australia has had the Ashes since 2018, but England will try to get them back when they visit Australia in 2025–26.
The Ashes series is more than just cricket. People all throughout the world are interested in this cultural event. The strong competition, historical importance, and famous occurrences have made it one of the most interesting rivalries in sports.
